Equb Financial Technologies ink partnership with Awash bank S.C. to promote digital saving in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, August 17, 2024 (FBC) – Equb Financial Technologies has signed a partnership agreement with Awash Bank S.C. to promote digital saving services in Ethiopia.

Equb Financial Technologies is an Ethiopian startup which has digitized the country’s age-long traditional saving method (Equb) into a digital saving system.

The signing agreement signed today aims to expand the startup’s digital presence in the country thereby scale up its services through the use of Awash Pro Mobile App.

It is stated on the signing ceremony that the Equb Financial Technology app enables users to get access to interest free saving and credit services.

Alexander Abay, CEO of Equb Technologies, stated on the occasion that the platform helps individuals to establish their own digital saving associations, and transfer payments via electronic system which in turn helps them save time and cost.

He added that the platform also enables saving associations to forge partnership for mutual financial services and contribute to the national efforts to revolutionize digital financial ecosystem.

Abel Tadelle, FSD Ethiopia representative, commended the platform as an important platform to promote digital saving system and help ensure finical inclusion in the country. It is stated on the occasion that the eQUB App is available on Google Play Store.
