EPPJC calls up on Ethiopians to play active role in forthcoming national dialogue
Addis Ababa, March 11, 2022 (FBC) – Addressing participants of the First Congress of the Ruling Prosperity, Chairperson of the Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council (EPPJC), Rahel Bafe (PhD) called on Ethiopians to play an active role in upcoming national dialogue.
Ethiopia has gone through several challenges over the last three years, she said, adding that political parties has been working together based on one common vision, creating peaceful, politically stable and developed Ethiopia.
“Our vision is one. Ensuring peaceful and democratic Ethiopia. WE have to work hand in hand for brighter future,” she said.
We have a great responsibility to safeguard the people and the nation although challenges may continue. I believe that we can overcome the challenges with unity.
The Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council has been playing its part in enhancing participation of parties in the political process. Political parties have greater responsibility in bringing peace, political stability and sustainable development in Ethiopia. The have also a role to ensure rule of law in the country.
Ethiopia has finalized preparations for the forthcoming national dialogue, she said calling all stakeholders to contribute constructive inputs for the successfulness of the process.
The forthcoming national dialogue needs active participation of all citizens to be successful. The process must be inclusive. Politcal parties, the general public, stakeholders must work for solutions if there are problems in the process.
Listening one another and mutual respect is a very significant component ofr the dialogue, she added.
She further called upon the Ruling Prosperity Party to play its part in making the dialogue free and fair in order to open the new chapter in the political history of Ethiopia.
