Entrepreneurship contest in Agro-Industry sector underway between four Public universities

Addis Ababa, March 17, 2022 (FBC) – Entrepreneurship contest in the Agro-Industry sector is underway between four public higher education institutions in Ethiopia namely Hawassa, Adama, Debre Markos and Bahir Dar universities.

The Ministry of Labor and Skills stated that the contest between the four universities is to be concluding soon identifying five youths who have come up with ideas and products that will create better jobs in the agro-industry sector.

Representative of the EU, Teresa Jaleta said the youths who are taking part in the completion were receiving support from the universities where they were attending higher education.

He said the project, designed by the European Union and other partners with a view to create job opportunities for youth and women in the agro-industry sector, has enabled entrepreneurs acquire better information on effective job creation activity.

A representative of GIZ, for his part, reiterated the commitment of the German Government in partnering with the Ministry for such initiative in order to promote the youth who would contribute to prosperity of the county through effective entrepreneurship.

It is said that 17 teams that represent their universities have brought products to the contest.
