ENDF briefing members of international community on current issues
Addis Ababa, August 29, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Defense Force is briefing members of international community based in Addis Ababa on current issues in the light of the renewed TPLF’s belligerence respective measures being taken by the Government .
Peace and security heads, members of military leadership of various countries and military attachés of embassies based in Addis Ababa are attending the briefing being presented by International Relations and Military Cooperation Division of the National Defense Forces.
International Relations and Military Cooperation Director General, Maj.-Gen Teshome Gemechu stated that the National Defense Force is in a better position to ward off Ethiopia from any attack and thwart any belligerence against the nation.
Maj.-Gen Teshome Gemechu told the representatives of the international community that TPLF has opened renewed war against Ethiopia avoid peace options put in place by the government.
TPLF has launched attacks in Wotwot Rama, Bisober and Zobl fronts and border areas of neighboring Afar Region, Maj.-Gen Teshome said, assuring them that the aggressing by the rebel forces can be confirmed through technological devices.
ENDF has institutional responsibility to defend sovereignty and interest of the nation from any security threat, he said, calling the international community to take account of the efforts exerted by the Government of Ethiopia to solve the situation with peaceful manner.
He further called on the international community to shun fabrications by the TPLF regarding the situation, underlining that the counter-offensive against the group is gathering pace.
