Embassy promoted Ethiopian heritages at 9th edition of Nairobi int’l Cultural Festival
Addis Ababa, June 9, 2024 (FBC) – The Embassy of Ethiopia in Kenya participated in the 9th edition of Nairobi international cultural festival.
This year’s Nairobi international cultural festival was held on June 8, 2024 at Nairobi National Museum. The event brought opportunity for the Embassies to showcase their respective cultural heritages and national products.
The Ethiopian Booth colorfully displayed a wide variety of Ethiopian cultural heritages and products such as Ethiopian traditional coffee ceremony with organic test and authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Ethiopian Airlines Nairobi office has also participated in the event alongside the Embassy and displayed the historical and cultural tourism destination in Ethiopia and adverting Ethiopian Airlines, the biggest Airline in Africa.
Ambassador Teshome Shunde, Head of Political and Public diplomacy section at the Embassy delivered his remarks at the opening ceremony. In his remark he pointed out that Ethiopia is ancient civilization without interrupted statehood that extended for more than three thousand years.
Ambassador Teshome has also mentioned that Ethiopia has registered 16 intangible and tangible heritages at UNESCO’s world heritage list, which made Ethiopia the leading nation with the highest number of registered world heritages.
Over 20 Embassies and Exhibitors showcased their cultural cuisine, music, dance, handcrafts and fashion products during the festival. It is estimated that the annual festival is toured by more than 8,000 visitors.
The Nairobi International Cultural Festival is an annual event organized by the National Museums of Kenya.
