Embassy marks the launch of Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, January 24, 2024 (FBC) – The UK Embassy in Addis Ababa yesterday marked the launch of the Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) initiative in Ethiopia.
ARIA, led by British International Investment and Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank aims to foster collaboration between development financial institutions and local private sector to unlock new investment opportunities.
The initiative is also said crucial in leading to more foreign exchange and increasing productivity.
Participants of the vent also celebrated the landmark 40 million USD investment in to Dashen Bank in which the two institutions teamed up to boost Ethiopia’s agricultural exports.
In attendance were Darren Welch, Ambassador of the UK to Ethiopia, Melaku Alebel, Minister of Industry and Semereta Sewasew, State Minister for Finance.
Ambassador Darren Welch stated on the occasion that “ the Initiatives are another great examples of the strong trade and investment ties between the UK and Ethiopia.”
The Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) is an initiative led by BII and FMO that brings together development finance institutions (DFIs) to unlock investment opportunities in transition states in Africa.
