Embassy in UAE recognize community support for conflict-affected people in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, June 20, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the United Arab Emirates, Suleiman Dedefo, and Consul General of the Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Ambassador Aklilu Kebede, attended an event that aimed to recognize the immense contribution of individuals, representatives of religious institutions and various associations of the Ethiopian community in support of conflict-affected people in the northern part of Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian community in the UAE has gathered about 16 million Ethiopian birr and in-kind donations thus far to rehabilitate displaced and other conflict-affected people. The Ethiopian community in the UAE is about to send 15,000 books to various schools in Ethiopia.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Suleiman Dedefo called on the Ethiopian community in the UAE to continue their encouraging support to their country given the continued external and internal pressures that compromise the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
