Embassy debunks misleading reporting by Sudans Post on meeting with French Senators

Addis Ababa, February 10, 2022 (FBC) – The Embassy of Ethiopia in Paris stated that an article published online on 8 February 2022 by an outlet called Sudans Post under the title ‘‘Ethiopia set to release more ‘high-profile’ opposition politicians’’ completely misrepresents the meeting of the Embassy with French Members of the Senate.

The meeting with the Senators referred to already released high political figures from prison, to the government’s commitment to peace and to TPLF’s renewed actions to thwart peace efforts and humanitarian delivery through attacks on adjacent Amhara and Afar regions.

The meeting did not mention any future release as the SUDANS POST wrongly claims, it is stated.
