Embassy briefs diplomatic community in Djibouti on the Pretoria agreement
Addis Ababa, November 9, 2022 (FBC) –The Ethiopian Embassy in Djibouti organized a two-day briefing session for the diplomatic community based in Djibouti on the Cessation of Hostility Agreement signed in Pretoria, the achievements made thus far and a path forward to reconstruct and rehabilitate conflict-affected regions.
The two-day meeting, which includes four sessions for 31 representatives of the diplomatic community in Djibouti, is currently addressing terms of the agreement such as disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration, humanitarian aid, reconstruction efforts, the restoration of basic services and the Federal Authority in Tigray, the role of the African Union, and observers.
During the sessions, diplomats and representatives of Regional and International Organizations have expressed appreciation for the agreement, which has the ultimate aim of restoring peace and stability in Ethiopia.
The Diplomatic breakthrough of the African Union brokered peace deal, a thorough examination of the implementation process and the seamless execution of duties in accordance with the agreement was also a point of discussion in the first day.
