Embassies based in Addis Ababa extend Mesqel holiday messages to Ethiopians

Addis Ababa, September 27, 2022 (FBC) – The Russian and other embassies of different countries based in Addis Ababa have extended their warm wishes to Ethiopians on the Holiday of Mesqel-Demera.

“The Russian Embassy wishes our Ethiopian brothers and sisters a happy Mesqel holiday celebration”, the Embassy tweeted.

Algerian Embassy message reads: “The Embassy of Algeria in #AddisAbaba extends its best wishes to all Ethiopian people upon the celebration of the #MeskelFestivity #Melkam_Meskel.”

Embassies of Morocco, Iran, Pakistan, Mexico, Canada, India, Israel, Republic of Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, UK, Egypt, Australia and USA among others sent their Mesqel holiday wishes to Ethiopians.

The Mesqel-Demera Holiday, the commemoration of finding of the long-lost True Cross by Queen Eleni of Ethiopia, colorfully celebrated by Christians in various religious and cultural ceremonies throughout Ethiopia on September 26 and 27, 2022.
