Egypt’s PM remark on GERD in commensurate with Ethiopia’s position: MFA

Addis Ababa, May 20, 2021 (FBC) – In the biweekly press briefing session tosay, Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti said that Egypt’s Prime Minister’s remark on the second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) is in commensurate with Ethiopia’s position on the dam and utilization of the River Nile.

The recent remark made by Egypt’s Prime Minister Sameh Shoukry that the second filling of GERD will not imact interests of Egyptians is a good steps twards addressing the issue through amicable manner.

Sameh Shoukry comment indicates that Egypt has revised its position regarding the filling of the GERD, the spokesperson said.
