EEU restores electric service in Ab’ala area
Addis Ababa, 9, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU) has announced that electric service has been restored in Ab’ala town and its surroundings.
It is stated that Ab’ala town and its surroundings have been without electric power for more than two years due to heavy damage during the war to the town’s electricity infrastructure.
EEU’s official post on social media indicates that electric service has been restored in Ab’ala town of Afar region following the completion of electrical infrastructure maintenance.
The town used to receive electric power distribution station from Mekele substation, but its electric service was cut off due to heavy damage caused by the war.
It is also said that the service has been restored by repairing the high and low power lines and transformers.
EEU further indicated that work is being done to reconnect the rest of the cities in Kilbeti Ressu zone of Afar region.
