Education Ministry unveils nationwide school feeding project in 500 schools

Addis Ababa, January 28, 2021 (FBC) – Ministry of Education has announced a nationwide school feeding project in 500 schools across the country.

The project which that has been initiated by Global Partnership for Education is said to be implemented in collaboration with Save the Children is said to address more than 163, 000 students in 5 regions.

Students in pre-primary and primary education levels have been included into the project, the ministry said.

Saying that school feeding is priority areas of the Save the Children, organization’s Ethiopia Director Ekin Ogutogullari said, the project is intended to support students vulnerable to natural and other circumstances.

State Minister at the Ministry of Education, Million Matewos said the project will have a paramount importance in addressing school drop outs and other challenges in the teaching learning sphere.
