Education Minister partakes in UNESCO’s 42nd Session of the General Conference
Addis Ababa, November 8, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian delegation led by Professor Berhanu Nega, the Minister of Education & the President of the National Commission for UNESCO, is attending the 42nd Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which started on Tuesday (7 November) in Paris, France.
During the Conference to be held from November 7 to 22, 2023, Prof. Berhanu Nega, is expected to deliver a statement on Ethiopia’s national policy pertaining to UNESCO-related activities undertaken in the last two years, according to the Ministry of Education.
The Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from various countries and UNESCO senior officials on the sidelines of the Conference.
The General Conference of the UNESCO, which is held every two years, is a conference for Member States to create a favourable environment in building a culture of peace, eradicating poverty, and achieving sustainable development in the fields of education, science, culture, communication, information, among others.
