ECX traded over 30 bn birr commodities in nine months

Addis Ababa, April 30, 2020 (FBC) – The Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) has traded 602, 823 tons of commodities worth 30.4 billion birr over the past nine months.

The Exchange achieved 97% of its target by trading 231, 885 tons of coffee, 211,777 tons of sesame, 69,760 tons of soya beans, 46, 914 tons of green mung beans and 39, 286 white pea beans.

Compared to the same period the previous year, the trade volume surpassed by 100,000 tons or by 20%, while the trade value was showing a 21% increase, according to a statement ECX sent to FBC.
