Dutch and UAE Investors Eye Ethiopia’s Soil Fertilizer Production Sector
Addis Ababa, August 12, 2024 (FBC) – Dutch and United Arab Emirates investors have expressed their desire to engage in soil fertilizer production in Ethiopia.
This was revealed after a meeting between Ethiopia’s Minister of State for Industry, Hassan Muhammed, and delegates from the Dutch and United Arab Emirates business communities.
The investors aim to manufacture natural fertilizer products locally and supply them to the domestic market.
This type of investment has many economic benefits, said the Minister of State, especially the transition from agriculture to industry. By engaging in fertilizer production, investors can not only contribute to the growth of Ethiopia’s agricultural sector but also help diversify the country’s economy and promote sustainable development.
During the meeting, Hassan Muhammed emphasized the potential benefits of investing in Ethiopia’s fertilizer production sector, including the creation of job opportunities and the potential for in foreign currency.
Additionally, the state minister noted the significance of technologies capable of treating acidic soil in making the production process feasible in the country.
