Dr Sileshi receives UK Minister for Africa

Addis Ababa, July 28, 2020 (FBC) –Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr Sileshi Bekele, received UK’s Minister for Africa, James Duddridge, at his office today.

Dr Sileshi provided a briefing to Duddridge on the development activities that Ethiopia has been undertaking in the areas of safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene, irrigation, watershed development and energy.

Moreover, he briefed the UN Minister on the current status of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and its benefit to Ethiopia and downstream riparian countries.

James Duddridge said he wants the trilateral negations regarding the dam to be concluded in a way that ensure the benefits of the three countries.
