DPM & FM Demeke visits Emperor Haile Selassie Secondary School in Zanzibar
Addis Ababa, April 24, 2023 (FBC) – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen has visited Emperor Haile Selassie’s Secondary School located in Zanzibar City, Mjini Magharibi Region of Tanzania.
It is stated that the School was established 75 years ago.
The founding father of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, named the school after Emperor Haile Selassie in recognition of his contribution to the freedom of Africans, the school officials stated.
During the visit the DPM & FM said that the current generation should follow the footsteps of the founding fathers of Africa and work together for the betterment of the continent.
Demeke also planted a memorial seedling in the school’s compound.
It is to be recall that DPM and FM Demeke, has arrived in Tanzania as part of his official working visit to four African countries.
It is also noted that his working visit includes trips to Comoros, Burundi and Uganda.
Following his arrival in Dodoma, Demeke met with Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu on bilateral and regional issues.
