DPM & FM Demeke seen off U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken
Addis Ababa, March 16, 2023 (FBC) – Following the conclusion of his 2-days working visit to Ethiopia, the U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken was seen off at Bole International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen.

Addis Ababa, March 16, 2023 (FBC) – Following the conclusion of his 2-days working visit to Ethiopia, the U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken was seen off at Bole International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen.
During his stay in Ethiopia, Anthony J. Blinken held discussions yesterday with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on various issues pertaining to local, regional, and bilateral issues.
It was learned that they agreed to take relations between Ethiopia and America to a notch higher.
In addition, Secretary Blinken also discussed with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonon on various issues.
In his press conference held yesterday in Addis Ababa, Anthony Blinken announced $331 million in humanitarian assistance from the U.S. to Ethiopia.
Blinken noted that his country will continue to support Ethiopia’s economy.
It is known that Ethiopia and the United States of America started their diplomatic relations in 1903.
Blinken is also expected to travel to West Africa to visit Niger, according to the recent statement from the U.S Department of State.
