DPM & FM Demeke Mekonnen discusses with Chinese FM

Addis Ababa, January 10, 2023 (FBC) – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, held discussion with his Chinese counterpart, Qin Gang.

The Chinese Foreign Minister had a discussion with the FDRE Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, earlier today on the strategic cooperation between the two countries and multilateral cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Qin Gang, who was recently appointed as the new Foreign Minister of China, started his overseas official working visit to five African countries in Ethiopia today.

He is expected to hold discussions with other Ethiopian senior government officials and AU Commission chiefs.

The Chinese envoy will also attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the China-backed new Africa CDC Headquarter in Addis Ababa tomorrow.
