DPM & FM Demeke confers with Vice President of Cuba

Addis Ababa, January 27, 2024 (FBC) – Demeke Mekonnen, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Salvador Valdes, Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, to discuss multilateral cooperation and friendship between Ethiopia and Cuba.

The discussion also covered topics such as South-South cooperation, multilateral international collaboration, and the adverse effects of unilateral sanctions.

In terms of bilateral cooperation, both parties emphasized the importance of working together on public health, education, and sugar industry development.

The two sides agreed to hold bilateral political consultations in the near future to strengthen cooperation and mutual support.
