DPM, FM Demeke confers with ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger

Addis Ababa, December 12, 2023 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen has discussed with President of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.

During the meeting they held in Switzerland, the two have explored ways on how to enhance cooperation between Ethiopia and the committee. Demeke appreciated ICRC’s continued support for Ethiopia, calling for enhanced assistance from the committee.

He also briefed the ICRC president on the efforts Ethiopia has been exerting to maintain peace and rehabilitate conflict affected areas.

ICRC’s President  Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, for her part, affirmed the commitment of her organization to continue humanitarian assistance to Ethiopia.
