Dire Dawa, Djibouti sign MoU on sports, education cooperation
Addis Ababa, October 9, 2022 (FBC) – Dire Dawa and Djibouti cities have signed a cooperation MOU on revitalization and cooperation in the fields of sport, culture, education, and business sectors.
Mayors of the respective cities Kadir Juhar and Said D. Mohamed during Dire Dawa have signed the MoU.
Mayor of Dire Dawa City, Kadir Juhar, is in Djibouti on a three-day working visit in order to revitalize the already vibrant and intricately entwined sister cities of Dire Dawa City and Djibouti City.
Railway construction started in 1897 progressed inland from Djibouti & reached Dire Dawa in 1902. Since then, the train was instrumental for cultural exchange causing the creation of a family.
In a related story, as part of expanding Ethiopia’s Green Legacy initiative to neighboring countries, today, Ethiopia has managed to deliver 62,000 seedlings to Djibouti in the 3rd round.
A quarter of a million trees are proffered so far engendering an exemplary Green Economic Integration, according to Ethiopian Embassy in Djibouti.
