‘Dine for Ethiopia’ project a catalyst to expedite progress of Ethiopia’s tourism dev’t
Addis Ababa, December 31, 2023 (FBC) – The ‘Dine for Ethiopia’ initiatives currently under development in different regions of the nation serve as supplementary assets to the holistic advancement of Ethiopia’s tourism industry, as stated by Lensa Mekonnen, the State Minister of Tourism.
The Dine for Ethiopia project, an endeavor spearheaded by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed ( PhD), encompasses tourism destination projects situated in Gorgora, Wonchi, and Koysha, located in the Amhara, Oromia, and South West Ethiopia regional states, respectively.
‘Dine for Sheger’ was PM Abiy’s first initiative that brought three grand parks making the Ethiopian capital the best tourist destination.
The new destinations opened for the tourists in the capital are Unity Park, Entoto Park, Friendship Park, Meskel Square project, and Science Museum. These destinations have gained immense popularity among both domestic and international tourists.
Chebera Churchura Elephant Paw Lodge, which is part of the Koysha project under the Premier’s Dine for the Ethiopia initiative was also inaugurated last week.
The Elephant Paw Lodge is built as a tourist attraction of international standards, it was indicated.
Other grand tourist attractions will also be developed over the coming years through “Dine For Generation” project initiated by the PM.
Ms. Lensa Mekonnen stated that the efforts being carried out by the government to accelerate the development of tourism sector is bearing fruits.
Tourist destinations both newly inaugurated and those in pipe line provide immense ability to adequately tap the potential of the sector to benefit the overall economic development of the country, she added.
The projects have also been stimulating the country’s tourism sector, the State Minister said.
The government is working with the private sector to help them engage in tourism development projects, ENA reported.
