Dialogue commission calls on advocators to assume responsibility for active public engagement
Addis Ababa, October 10, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission urged advocators close to the people to assume their responsibilities for active public engagement.
The National Dialogue Commission is holding a discussion with representatives of the people of Afar, Benishangul Gumuz and Gambella regions.
During the discussion, Prof. Mesfin Araya, Commissioner of National Dialogue Commission, said that intensive work is being done to ensure that all regions and ethnic groups participate in the national dialogue process.
The Commission is holding a two-day input gathering discussion with the people’s representatives of Afar, Benishangul Gumuz and Gambella regions, in Addis Ababa.
Mentioning that Ethiopia is a country with many values to resolve any conflict or dispute, Professor Mesfin said that the participation of all citizens plays a vital role in the success of the national dialogue.
He said that this discussion forum with the public representatives of the three regions aims to ensure active public engagement.
The participants also emphasized that they should work responsibly in advocating and informing their local communities about the importance and process of national dialogue, said a report from ENA.
