Deputy PM says FMC well-positioned to serve Ethiopia, its people with integrity & purpose
Addis Ababa, January 3, 2024 (FMC) – The media holds incredible potential to play a pivotal role in building a strong and united nation by amplifying our collective capabilities, Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia Mr. Temesgen Truneh said.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s latest comment regarding the significance of the country’s media surfaced on his social media page following his visit to Fana Media Corporation (FMC) this afternoon together with other senior government officials.
“Today, we had the opportunity to visit Fana Media Corporation, born from the recent merger of Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) and Walta Media and Communication Corporation (WMCC),” he noted.
This newly unified institution stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, equipped with modern technology and a reputation for quality work—a commitment we witnessed firsthand, he underscored.
“With its roots in two strong media entities, Fana Media Corporation is well-positioned to serve the country and its people with integrity and purpose. However, there is still work to be done. The focus must remain on delivering timely, accurate news and relevant information that empowers citizens and strengthens our democracy,” Temesgen added.
“As a government, we recognize the importance of a vibrant media landscape, and our support will continue to ensure that institutions like Fana Media Corporation thrive in their mission to inform, educate, and inspire,” he emphasized.
