Deputy PM launches construction of Gimba-Tenta junction road project

Addis Ababa, October 26, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen has officially launched the construction of the 80.22km Gimba-Tenta junction asphalt road project.

The road project, which will be built with 2.1 billion birr, was awarded to a Chinese firm, Jiangxi the Second Construction Co Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Premier said the government has allocated more than 50 billion birr to build and upgrade roads this fiscal year.

Director General of Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) Engineer Habtamu Tegegn for his part called the residents to contribute their share for the success of the project.

The construction of the road will be completed in three years.
