Deputy PM lauds Gorgora Project, Abay Bridge as driving force for economic growth

Addis Ababa, May 3, 2024 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh along with Head of Democracy Building Center Adem Farah and other high level officials has visited the progress of the Gorgora Project, Abay River Bridge, manufacturing industries and other project in the Amhara Regional State.

Gorgora project is one of the mega schemes being implemented under the national ‘Dine for the Nation’ initiative which aims to expand green and competitive tourism attraction sites in the country.

The delegation also toured development activities in including urban agriculture works under the national ‘Bounty of Basket’ initiative in Bahir Dar City.

The activities in Bahir Dar city will bring economic benefits to the national apart from transforming livelihood of residents of the area, the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

The Gorgora Project and the Abay Bridge will be inaugurated soon, according to the Deputy Prime Minister who said the projects will have a paramount significance in turbocharging the tourism industry.

The Deputy Prime Minister further stressed the need to protect and maintain peace, calling the community to nurture culture of dialogue to address challenges.
