Deputy PM extends best wishes to Muslims on Eid-al-Fitr
Addis Ababa, May 23, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen has extended his best wishes to Muslims on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr.
Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, will be celebrated tomorrow.
In his message, the Deputy Premier said “in this year’s great fasting month of Ramadan, we spent a good time caring for one another, supporting and helping each other.”
He further said “in the month of Ramadan, the Muslim community exercised wisely and responsibly precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.”
In his message, the Deputy Prime Minister also urged Muslims to tighten-up their precautionary measures to stem the spread of the virus and reduce its potential adverse impact.
He further called on other community members to adhere to safety guidelines by avoiding complacency as latest data shows a growing trend of coronavirus cases across the country.
