Deputy PM confers with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan
Addis Ababa, May 16, 2024 (FBC) – Today, Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr. Temesgen Tiruneh, met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, to discuss enhancing investment and trade relations between their countries.
During the meeting, they reached an agreement to work closely on issues that would ensure economic benefits for both nations.
Deputy PM Temesgen noted that Azerbaijan expressed readiness to share its experience in utilizing reliable development resources and opportunities in Ethiopia, particularly focusing on increasing income, investment, and strategic activities.
One of the main topics of discussion was the idea of establishing an independent and self-governing free economic zone.
Minister Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized the importance of creating such a zone to attract multinational companies worldwide by providing comprehensive services in one location.
Following the meeting, Mr. Temesgen took to social media and disclosed Azerbaijan’s commitment to leveraging all available opportunities for joint development. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen economic ties and foster mutual growth between Ethiopia and Azerbaijan.
