Deputy PM chuffed by encouraging progress of dev’t projects in Dessie city
Addis Ababa, June 29, 2024 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr. Temesgen Truneh, expressed his satisfaction with the promising progress of development projects currently underway in Dessie city, located in the Amhara region.
Mr. Temsgen made this remark on social media following a visit by a high-level federal government delegation, led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, to Dessie city and its surrounding areas earlier today.
Upon their arrival, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his delegation were warmly welcomed by the city’s leadership and enthusiastic residents.
During their visit, the premier, along with Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen and high-ranking officials, engaged in a dialogue with local residents.
In addition, the Prime Minister and his delegation traveled to Hayk town, which is located 30 kilometers north of Dessie city, and initiated this year’s Green Legacy planting cycle. They also assessed the progress of the Logo Hayk tourism development project, which is being undertaken under PM Abiy’s “Dine for Nation” initiative.
Reflecting on the development projects he observed in Dessie city, Mr. Temesgen expressed that various initiatives are underway to accelerate the city’s progress.
According to him, Dessie city inhabitants are playing a central role in the development works and that the city’s image will significantly improve in the near future.
The Deputy Prime Minister also extended his gratitude for the warm reception the delegation received during their visit to Dessie City.
