Dardanelles Strait Closed to Shipping Due to Fog – Reports

ANKARA, January 3 (Sputnik) – The Dardanelles Strait has been closed for two-way transit passage of ship due to thick fog and the subsequent deterioration of visibility, Turkish media reported on Wednesday.

The Turkish Straits Vessel Traffic Service has warned captains of vessels planning to enter from the north and south of the measures taken, the BirGun newspaper reported.

Ship traffic will return to normal once the fog subsides, the report said.
