Court hands down up to life imprisonment sentence to five inmates

Addis Ababa, October 27, 2020 (FBC) -Federal High Court today handed down prison sentences ranging from 5 years to life imprisonment to five individuals.

The offenders were found guilty of killing two people and injuring 150 others by throwing a hand grenade during a rally held in June 24, 2018 in support of Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed.

Accordingly, Tilahun Getachew was sentenced to life in prison, while the remaining four individuals received a prison sentence ranging from 5 to 23 years.
