Corporation ink trade deal with China’s ZOOMLION Agriculture Machinery

Addis Ababa, July 3, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Agricultural Businesses Corporation inked trade deal China’s ZOOMLION Agriculture Machinery Co. Ltd to import and assemble agricultural equipment in Ethiopia.

The contract signed has two chapters as the first one stipulates that semi-assembled agricultural equipment will be imported and fully manufactured in Ethiopia.

As per the second chapter of the contract, fully assembled machineries will be imported and supplied to the market.

The machinery will be employed to harvest maize, rice and soybean products there by addressing post-harvest losses and increase productivity.

Ethiopian Agricultural Minister, Girma Amente (PhD), during his visit to China, toured the ZOOMLION’s Industrial Park, and discussed with leadership of the park on how to adapt various technologies into the Ethiopian agricultural landscape.
