Cornerstone laid for 5bn birr Ajema Chacha irrigation development project
Addis Ababa, January 9, 2021 (FBC) -A cornerstone has been laid for the construction of Ajema Chacha irrigation development project in north Shoa zone of Amhara regional state.
The dam with a height of 45.5 meters, length of 371 meters and total capacity of 55 million cubic meters will be built in Angolela Tera woreda of the zone at a cost of 5 billion birr.
Chief Administrator of Amhara regional state, Agegnehu Teshager, Minister of Water, Irrigation, and Energy, Dr Seleshi Bekele attended the ground-breaking ceremony.
Once completed, the dam has the capacity to develop 7,000 hectares of land and benefit more than 28,000 households, it was noted.
