Consultative forum on disaster risk reduction opens in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, January 13, 2020 (FBC) –A five-day consultative forum on disaster risk reduction kicked off in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa today.

The forum was organized by Ethiopia’s National Disaster Risk Management Commission in partnership with the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction-Regional Office for Africa (UNDRR AF) and CIMA Research Foundation.

The event, which aims to strengthen disaster risk governance, brought together researchers, representatives from regional states and Addis Ababa city administration as well as heads of various institutions.

It was noted that the forum will contribute a lot in building Ethiopia’s resilience to disasters.

In its five-day stay, the forum will see presentation of different research papers.
