Commission says terrorist TPLF diverting food aid away from civilians in need
Addis Ababa, August 22, 2021 (FBC) – The National Disaster Risk Management Commission stated that the terrorist TPLF group is diverting food aid away from civilians in need in the northern part of the country.
A number of international organizations are consistently delivering food and non-food items to people in need in Tigray region before and since the government declared the unilateral ceasefire, the commission indicated.
Commissioner Mitiku Kassa said the five humanitarian agencies operating in the region have to check whether the food aid is reaching civilians in need of it.
“The international community including the people of America and other countries must ask how the rebels can divert the aid which has been collected from donors in the name of civilians,” he added.
High energy biscuits and other nutritious foods have been found in hands of TPLF’s colonel Gebrehiwot Gebreaelaf who recently surrendered to the national army.
