Commission deliberates on agenda gathering
Addis Ababa, March 16, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission is deliberating with pertinent stakeholders on agenda gathering today to pave the way for national consensus.
The Commission has carried out identification of participants earlier in five regional states and two city administrations, it was learned.
Today’s deliberation is instrumental to discuss ways in collecting potential national dialogue agenda from the general public through various means.
In his opening remark, National Dialogue Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya said that activities are being carried out to create national consensus on different issues.
The commission is reinforcing efforts that would help Ethiopians resolve their differences through dialogue, he stated, and added that participant identification at Woredas level has successfully been accomplished.
The national dialogue commission is a solid basement to the nation state building, the Chief Commissioner pointed out. Hence, Mesfin revealed that the commission is currently engaging into the practical operation phase.
Multiple activities have been done through the active support from various stakeholders to make the national dialogue a reality, Professor Mesfin said.
He added that different sections of the society were provided awareness rising on the national dialogue.
Ministers, representatives of political parties, stakeholders from all regions, and civil society are partaking in the deliberation.
