Commission calls on Ethiopians in the Diaspora to actively participate in national consultation
Addis Ababa, June 27, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) called on Ethiopians in the Diaspora to actively participate in the upcoming national consultation.
In a message communicated to the Ethiopian Diaspora, the Commission noted that there are differences in opinion and misunderstanding among various political and ideological leaders and members of society in Ethiopia on the most basic national issues.
ENDC emphasized the importance of resolving such differences and misunderstandings and reaching a national consensus through dialogue.
It is indicated that an independent national dialogue commission has been established and started to work in order to bring about a better national consensus by conducting inclusive national consultations on very basic national issues, and in the process to promote a culture of trust and cooperation.
Therefore, the Commission has called on all Ethiopians in the Diaspora to take advantage of this historic opportunity to actively participate in the national consultation, which is expected to play a vital role in the future of Ethiopia.
In order to implement this, ENDC announced that it is planning to hold a zoom meeting with Ethiopian Diasporas across the globe.
Accordingly, a zoom meeting will be held with Ethiopians living in Africa, the Middle East and Europe on July 8, 2023, and with those living in North and South America, Oceania and Asia on July 9, 2023.
The commission’s note indicates that the registration to participate in the meeting will be held from June 27 to July 6, 2023.
A day before the meeting, the meeting link will be sent to the email address registered by the registrants on the registration form, the Commission added.
According to ENDC, the time of the meetings for participants living in Africa, the Middle East and Europe is 3:00 pm (9:00 in the Ethiopian time), for those living in Oceania and Asia will start at 10:00 am (4:00 in the Ethiopian time), and for those living in North and South America the meeting will commence at 6:00 pm (12:00 in the Ethiopian time).
