City to cover dialysis treatment costs for kidney patients: Deputy Mayor
Addis Ababa, September 9, 2020 (FBC) – Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie today announced that the city administration will cover dialysis treatment cost for kidney patients who are getting services in public hospitals as of the New Ethiopian Year.
Deputy Mayor Adanech Abiebie has visited Zewditu Hospital today in connection with the Thanksgiving Day dedicated to one of the five days of Pagumen Month of Ethiopia on September 9/2020.
During the visit, the Deputy Mayor said the City Government of Addis Ababa is committed to cover dialysis cost of patients who are battling with kidney failure for one year.
Saying that many people in Ethiopia are forced to spend a large amount of money to get kidney dialysis services thrice a week, the Deputy Mayor affirmed that the city government appropriates 12 Million Birr to cover annual dialysis treatment costs of kidney patients.
Kidney patients who are receiving Kidney Dialysis service in Minilik, Zewditu and St. Paul hospitals will get their get their treatment cost covered by the City Administration, according to the Deputy Mayor.
