City launches Second Phase Green Legacy Initiative

Addis Ababa, June 18, 2023  (FBC) – The Addis Ababa City Administration has launched the second phase Green Legacy Initiative led Tree Planting ceremony as part of expanding Ethiopia’s Green Legacy initiative.

Minister of Agriculture, Girma Amente, Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration, Adanech Abiebie, higher government officials took part in the launching ceremony of the city’s second phase Green Legacy Initiative program.

It is stated that in the capital 17 million seedlings are prepared to be planted this year.

Seedling preparations include various fruits trees, flowers and other indigenous trees.

The second round green legacy initiative started this year by planting over 6 billion seedlings throughout the country.

25 billion seedlings have been planted since the initiative was launched.
