CICIR pledges to continue collaboration with Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, June 24, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to China, Teshome Toga briefed Xu Weizhong – President of the African Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), and scholars at CICIR on the current internal situation of Ethiopia and also discussed on bilateral collaborations.
The Ambassador gave an elaborate briefing on the war in Northern Ethiopia, on the unjustified Western pressure campaign, and on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) construction project.
Speaking about the Ethiopia-China diplomatic relationship, the ambassador highlighted on the two countries strong friendship for more than half a century and recalled that their diplomatic ties has been elevated to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership (CSCP) in 2017.
He also called on CICIR to further strengthen its relationship with the Embassy.
Mr. Xu Weizhong on his part thanked the Ambassador for briefing him and his team on Ethiopia’s current internal situation and assured the ambassador that CICIR will continue and strengthen its collaboration with Ethiopia.
