Choke Mountains chosen as best tourism village of 2022 by UNWTO

Addis Ababa, December 21, 2022 (FBC) – The United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has recognized the Choke Mountains as Best Tourism Village of 2022. 

The Choke mountainous village is situated some 300km from Addis Ababa in the northwest in Dega Damot Woreda of West Gojam Zone of the Amhara Region.

Choke village  is a community based environmental protection ecosystem including amazing waterfalls, forests and wildlife and Blue Nile watersheds with unique flora and fauna.

UNWTO gave the recognition to Choke Mountain cognizant of the activities underway in the village to preserve and promote natural and cultural heritages and community values.
