Chinese medical team receives briefing on Ethiopia’s COVID-19 response
Addis Ababa, April 16, 2020 (FBC) –The Chinese anti-pandemic medical expert team has received a briefing on the situational update of COVID-19 response in Ethiopia.
The 12-member team, dispatched by the government of China, arrived in Addis Ababa last Thursday, April 16, 2020.
They are among the very first batch of anti-pandemic medical teams that China ever sends to Africa since the outbreak.
During their two-week stay in the country, they will share experience and give advice on prevention and control of COVID-19 with local hospitals and experts.
Ethiopia has so far registered 114 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with three deaths and 16 recoveries.
According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, more than to 2.5 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally.
More than 177,000 people have died and more than 696,000 have recovered from the virus.
