Chinese electric appliances manufacturing plant goes operational in Bahir Dar

Addis Ababa, May 30, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) has announced today that the Chinese company known as Affluence Electric Appliances Manufacturing Plant has completed pre-operational work and is now operational.

The company has entered into a contract with the IPDC and has been conducting pre-operational activities at the Bahir Dar Industrial Park. Affluence Company has invested over 725 million in the project and is expected to produce various electric transformers and digital meters.

It is indicated that these products will be supplied to the local market, aiming to significantly increase access to electricity in Ethiopia.

The company has taken over a 5,500 square meter production facility and has put it into operation. Once at full capacity, the plant is anticipated to create more than 300 job opportunities.
