China’s Huawei donates anti pandemic materials to Finance Ministry
Addis Ababa, August 19, 2021 (FBC) – The Chinese ICT infrastructure giant, Huawei, donated anti-COVID-19 materials to the Ministry of Finance,
The batch is composed of facemasks and sanitizers for the personal protection of workers to counter the pandemic.
During the handing over ceremony Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide thanked Huawei for the support.
The support he said will also be used for the Ministry staff to protect themselves from COVID-19 pandemic.
He also expressed his gratitude for the longstanding partnership the company has with the Ministry and Ethiopia, particularly through ICT talent capacity building and IT infrastructure modernization which is important as Ethiopia continues to reform its telecom sector.
Huawei Deputy CEO Charles Ding said his company will continue to support the Ministry of Finance with ICT capacity building and also in the fight against the pandemic.
Established in 1999, Huawei Ethiopia contributed to the country development for over two decades providing telecom infrastructures, enterprise ICT & Smart power solutions for key sector players like Ethio-Telecom, MINT, AAU & many more.
Huawei Ethiopia currently created over 300 jobs and benefited over 45.8 million people with its services and products, according to the Ministry of Finance.
