China reaffirms continued backing to Ethiopia’s TVET sector

Addis Ababa, September 26, 2024 (FBC) – Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Chen Hai has confirmed that his country will continue to strengthen its support for Ethiopia in the areas of technical and vocational education.

The Ambassador made this statement during a meeting with Ethiopia’s Minister of Labor and Skills, Ms. Muferihat Kamil, to explore potential avenues for sustained cooperation.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted that technical and vocational education has significantly contributed to China’s growth and development, and that Ethiopia is also placing a strong emphasis on this sector.

In response, Mr. Chen Hai confirmed that China will continue to bolster its support for Ethiopia in this field.

Subsequently, Ms. Muferihat expressed her gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador for his commitment to further strengthening the relationship between the two countries through cooperation in technical and vocational education.

The minister and the ambassador visited Luban Workshop where they also encouraged teachers and students to advance the workshop to a higher level, thereby contributing to job-creation, industrialization and modernization.
