China donates 8.3mln birr worth of medical supplies to Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital
Addis Ababa, November 30, 2022 (FBC) – The National Health Commission of China on Tuesday donated a batch of 8.3 million birr worth of medical supplies to Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital to help improve its treatment capacity.
The Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse and the State Minister Dr. Dereje Duguma have signed the donation agreement with Deputy Minister of the National Health Commission of China, Dr. Cao.
Moreover, the Health Minister and the State Minister Dr. had discussion with the Chinese Medial Team led by Deputy Minister of the National Health Commission of China, Dr. Cao Xuetao on ways of enhancing existing cooperation between the two countries in the sector.
On the occasion, Dr. Lia appreciated the continued support by the Chinese government to the Tirunesh Beijing Hospital, claiming the assistance to have contributed for improvements in the institution’s service delivery.
Deputy Minister Dr. Cao Xuetao, for his part, said his Government has attached particular importance to its cooperation with the Tirunesh Beijing Hospital, pledging continued support to the institutions in areas of maternal and child health care, prevention of COVID 19 pandemic and emergency services, among others.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, the Chinese government has been continuously providing technical and material assistance to Ethiopia, in an effort to boost Ethiopia’s capacity in the health sector.
