China-backed Africa CDC HQ brings significant economic, health security benefits for Africa: IGAD
Addis Ababa January 12, 2023 (FBC) – The Africa Center for Disease Control (CDC), an investment by the Chinese government, is key to strengthen regional health capacity, Spokesperson of the Executive Secretary of Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) said.
The Spokesperson, Nuur Mohamud Sheekh told Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) exclusively that the China’s commitment to the Africa CDC is hugely commendable and will have significant economic and health security benefits for the continent.
“We ask other friends of Africa to support the centre in order for the continent to have effective health care systems,” he added.
