Belgium ready to cooperate with Ethiopia in innovation & technology: Ambassador

Addis Ababa, May 23, 2023 (FBC) – Belgium expressed its readiness to cooperate with Ethiopia in innovation and technology, digitalization and capacity building.

The Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla, held a discussion with Belgian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Stephen Thijs.

During their discussions, they deliberated on issues that enable the two nations work together on innovation and technology, ICT, capacity building, space science and multifaceted bilateral cooperation issues.

The Minister thanked Belgium for its support in education opportunities, capacity building and other fields in the past.

“Future cooperation will greatly help in achieving our Digital Ethiopia 2025 objectives,” Belete said.

Belgium’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Stephen Thijs, stated that Belgium is a country with great experience in digitalization and innovation.

Hence, he confirmed that his country is ready to cooperate with Ethiopia in innovation and technology, digitalization and capacity building.

The Ambassador hinted that the Minister of Innovation and Technology of Belgium will visit Ethiopia and consult with his Ethiopian counterpart.
